The review included our reductions in energy use, water use and waste generation, along with an extensive review of sustainable purchasing practices and pollution prevention activities, travel offsets, and renewable energy usage. Green Building Consultant Dodges Eyjafjallajökull’s Fury

Jerry spoke at Build Green CEE in Budapest on April 15th. The day before, he spoke to the first meeting of the Hungarian Green Building Council at Central European University in Budapest, an institution with an outstanding climate and energy researcher, Dr. Diana Uerge-Vorsatz, a physicist with a doctorate in energy studies from the University of California. The Build Green CEE brought together green building councils from around the region, including Hungary, Poland, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania, as well as guest speakers from green building councils in Germany, the U.S. and the U.K. The large crowd for Jerry’s opening keynote talk truly illustrated the hold that green building is getting in a relatively unknown (to US audiences) part of the world. This is an exciting time to be in the green building movement, and I’m privileged to be part of it.
