According to the US Green Building Council’s latest figures, LEED registrations for new construction topped 800 for the first four months of this year, ensuring another acceleration in the green building trend, with the likelihood of the bellwether rating system, LEED for New Construction, topping 2,000 new project registrations this year, which would represent another 50% increase in cumulative LEED-NC project registrations.

Newly elected California Attorney General Jerry Brown (yes, the former Governor) is pushing to have large development project environmental impact reports require a “carbon mitigation” plan, before they are certified as complete under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
