Greensburg, Kansas follows the Platinum brick road
Working with BNIM Architects, Kansas City, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, Colorado, the small (pop. 1200 prior to the tornado) town will rebuild all new city buildings as LEED Platinum. This is a milestone for any city in the U.S. With a small population and lots of help from outsiders, Greensburg has the opportunity to demonstrate the positive effects of green buildings on a municipal scale, something that will probably elude the much larger New Orleans.
