Better Bricks Awards Yudelson “Green Building Advocate of the Year”

Jerry Yudelson, Principal at Yudelson Associates, received the award in the Advocate category. Jerry is known for his significant involvement with USGBC on a local and national level and his work on Tacoma Police Headquarters and Tacoma Police Fleet Maintenance Facility. Jerry has trained more than 2,500 people in the LEED system. The Better Bricks awards are given annually by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, a five-state utility program oriented at energy conservation and green building design.

Jerry was named one of the 25 Green Building Leaders in the Pacific Northwest in the November 2004 issue of Sustainable Industries Journal, one of the leading publications in this field.

Jerry’s public lecture in April of 2005 at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia, was attended by more than 150 people. Jerry spoke on the topic, “Green Tea Ice Cream: The Search for the Elusive Green Building Consumer,” at the invitation of the University’s “City” Program for mid-career professionals. He also was a featured speaker in a daylong seminar at the University for developers of green buildings.”

Jerry’s paper, Predicting the growth of green buildings using “diffusion of innovation” theory, was accepted for presentation at the world’s major academic green building conference, SB05, organized by the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE), to be held in Tokyo, Japan, in September 2005.
