Green Build Bulletin | October, 2007
Special Announcement — October 2007
Dear Friends,
These are exciting times for the Green Building Industry. As I underscored in my latest blog post, the number of LEED-registered and LEED-certified green building projects is increasing at rates approaching 70-80% year-over-year. I’m calling this “revolutionary” growth and it underscores the reason that I am sending you this special edition of our e-newsletter.
On November 7th, at the Greenbuild Expo in Chicago, I will be doing a special book signing and celebrating the release of my latest book, The Green Building Revolution. With interviews and case studies, this important new green building resource shows readers why and how to start thinking about designing, building, and operating high-performance, environmentally aware (LEED-certified) buildings on conventional budgets. Please read on for more information and I hope to see you in Chicago.
Introducing “The Green Building Revolution”
The
Green Building Revolution by Jerry Yudelson, with a Foreword by S.
Richard Fedrizzi, CEO, U.S. Green Building Council, explains how the green
building movement has reached a critical mass of architects, engineers,
builders, developers, professionals in government, and consumers. Now
that the federal government, eighteen states, and nearly fifty U.S. cities
require new public buildings to meet green standards, green building is
no longer just a trend, but a verifiable revolution. Illustrated with
more than 50 photos, tables, and charts, and filled with tons of timely
information, The Green Building Revolution is the definitive book on a
major movement that’s poised to transform our world.

Interview with Jerry Yudelson, author, “The Green Building Revolution”
Green building is the fastest-growing phenomenon to hit the building industry since the Internet. It is no longer a trend; it’s a full-fledged revolution. Between 2000 and 2006, the number of green buildings has grown from a handful to more than 5,000 projects actively seeking certification of one kind or another.
With many corporations, the federal, state, local and regional governments implementing sustainability requirements including green building requirements I saw a need to outline the basics of green buildings and introduce the projects and people that are advancing this movement.
